What is Type 1 Diabetes

Formerly known as Juvenile Diabetes, Type 1 Diabetes is a chronic auto immune condition where the pancreas no longer produces or produces very little insulin.

How many people have Type 1 Diabetes?

As many as 3 million people may have Type 1 Diabetes.  Each day approximately 80 people are diagnosed with this chronic disease.

Is there a cure?

There is no cure for Type 1 Diabetes.  However, big strides have been made in technology for children and their parents to monitor and deliver medication in a manner that helps them have better control.  This helps our kids live a longer and healthier life.
